Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain heavy equipment (backhoes, dump trucks, sweepers)
- Perform street repairs, pothole patching, and asphalt maintenance
- Install and repair traffic signals, signs, and street markings
- Conduct storm drain cleaning and flood prevention activities
- Assist with emergency response during natural disasters
- Maintain accurate equipment inspection logs and service records
- Adhere to OSHA safety protocols and environmental regulations
Qualifications
- Valid California Class C driver's license (Class B preferred)
- 1+ years experience in public works or construction maintenance
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification (or obtain within 6 months)
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in extreme weather conditions
- Basic knowledge of traffic control flagging procedures
- Successful completion of pre-employment physical and background check
- High school diploma or equivalent (college coursework preferred)
