Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance on streets, sidewalks, and public facilities
- Operate heavy machinery including backhoes, dump trucks, and street sweepers
- Respond to emergency infrastructure repairs during storms or other crises
- Implement traffic control measures for public works projects
- Conduct safety inspections of municipal equipment and worksites
- Collaborate with engineering teams on infrastructure improvement projects
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment usage
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Valid California Class C driver's license with clean record
- Minimum 2 years experience in public works or construction maintenance
- OSHA 10-hour construction safety certification preferred
- Ability to operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently
- Strong physical stamina for outdoor work in varying weather conditions
- Knowledge of municipal infrastructure systems and maintenance protocols
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
