Responsibilities
- Perform routine and emergency maintenance on city streets, sidewalks, and traffic signs.
- Operate heavy machinery such as dump trucks, graders, and backhoes safely and efficiently.
- Inspect and repair municipal facilities, including water meters and fire hydrants.
- Respond to citizen inquiries and service requests in a professional and timely manner.
- Ensure strict adherence to all safety protocols and OSHA regulations on job sites.
- Maintain a clean, organized work vehicle and tool storage area.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Valid Kansas Driver’s License with a good driving record.
- Previous experience in public works, construction, or general labor is highly preferred.
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physical labor in various weather conditions.
- Basic knowledge of hand and power tools.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
