Responsibilities
- Maintain and repair sidewalks, streets, and public drainage systems
- Operate heavy machinery including backhoes, dump trucks, and jackhammers
- Perform routine inspections of public infrastructure to identify hazards
- Collaborate with engineering teams on urban renewal projects
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and municipal safety regulations
- Document maintenance activities and submit progress reports
- Respond to emergency infrastructure repairs during inclement weather
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent with 3+ years of maintenance experience
- Valid California Class C driver's license with clean record
- Certification in heavy equipment operation or willingness to obtain
- Knowledge of California infrastructure maintenance standards
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Experience working with concrete, asphalt, and drainage systems
- Basic computer literacy for reporting systems
