Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and preventative maintenance on streets, sidewalks, traffic signs, and drainage systems.
  • Operate and maintain heavy equipment, including graders, rollers, sweepers, and loaders, in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Respond promptly to emergency maintenance requests, citizen inquiries, and service complaints.
  • Conduct regular inspections of public infrastructure to identify hazards, damage, or areas requiring repair.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.
  • Valid California Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a Passenger endorsement is required.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of verifiable experience in public works, construction, or related field.
  • Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds repeatedly and stand for extended periods.
  • Must possess a valid State of California Class C Driver's License.
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, and rain.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate heavy machinery safely and effectively.
