Responsibilities
- Perform routine and preventative maintenance on streets, sidewalks, traffic signs, and drainage systems.
- Operate and maintain heavy equipment, including graders, rollers, sweepers, and loaders, in a safe and efficient manner.
- Respond promptly to emergency maintenance requests, citizen inquiries, and service complaints.
- Conduct regular inspections of public infrastructure to identify hazards, damage, or areas requiring repair.
- Assist in snow and ice removal operations during inclement weather to ensure public safety.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and equipment maintenance.
- Adhere to all safety regulations, OSHA standards, and traffic control procedures.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.
- Valid California Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a Passenger endorsement is required.
- Minimum of two (2) years of verifiable experience in public works, construction, or related field.
- Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds repeatedly and stand for extended periods.
- Must possess a valid State of California Class C Driver's License.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, and rain.
- Demonstrated ability to operate heavy machinery safely and effectively.
