Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain heavy equipment including trucks, tractors, and power tools for public works projects
- Perform routine inspections and repairs on city infrastructure including sidewalks, drainage systems, and traffic signals
- Ensure compliance with OSHA safety protocols and municipal maintenance standards
- Assist in emergency response during weather events or public safety incidents
- Document maintenance activities using digital reporting systems and field logs
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on infrastructure improvement projects
- Maintain clean and organized work areas and equipment storage facilities
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Valid California Class C driver's license with clean driving record
- Minimum 2 years experience in construction, landscaping, or equipment operation
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification preferred
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks in various weather conditions
- Basic knowledge of hand/power tools and maintenance procedures
- Strong communication skills and ability to follow written instructions
- Pass pre-employment background check and drug screening
