Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on streets, sidewalks, and drainage systems
- Operate heavy machinery including trucks, graders, and asphalt equipment
- Respond to emergency infrastructure repairs during storms and natural disasters
- Conduct safety inspections of public works facilities and equipment
- Collaborate with engineering teams on infrastructure improvement projects
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and municipal safety regulations
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Minimum 2 years of experience in public works or construction maintenance
- Valid California Class C driver's license (Class B preferred)
- Certification in heavy equipment operation (e.g., forklift, backhoe)
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in extreme weather conditions
- Basic knowledge of blueprints and technical schematics
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
