Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on city infrastructure including roads, sidewalks, and drainage systems
- Operate heavy equipment safely (backhoes, dump trucks, street sweepers) as needed
- Respond to urgent maintenance requests during severe weather events or emergencies
- Conduct regular inspections of public facilities and document findings
- Collaborate with cross-departmental teams for coordinated project execution
- Adhere to OSHA safety protocols and municipal maintenance standards
- Assist in storm recovery efforts and disaster response initiatives
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification preferred
- Minimum 2 years of experience in public works, construction, or maintenance
- Valid Texas Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification preferred
- Ability to operate heavy machinery and hand tools proficiently
- Strong physical stamina for outdoor work in varying weather conditions
- Basic knowledge of infrastructure systems (water, sewer, roads)
- Must pass background check and drug screening
