Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on city infrastructure including roads, sidewalks, and drainage systems
- Operate heavy machinery and specialized equipment safely and efficiently
- Respond to emergency repairs during storms, floods, or other natural disasters
- Conduct daily inspections of public facilities and document maintenance activities
- Collaborate with cross-departmental teams on capital improvement projects
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and municipal safety regulations
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent with 2+ years of maintenance experience
- Valid California Class C Driver's License with clean driving record
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification preferred
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in extreme weather conditions
- Basic knowledge of construction tools and equipment operation
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to pass background check and pre-employment physical
- Experience with GIS mapping or maintenance software a plus
