Responsibilities
- Perform daily maintenance and repairs on city streets, sidewalks, and park facilities to ensure public safety.
- Operate heavy machinery, including dump trucks, backhoes, pavement breakers, and jackhammers.
- Respond to emergency maintenance requests and public service inquiries with urgency and professionalism.
- Conduct routine inspections of public infrastructure to identify safety hazards or repair needs.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work vehicle and equipment storage area.
- Collaborate with other municipal teams and contractors to complete large-scale projects efficiently.
- Assist with snow removal and storm cleanup operations as needed.
Qualifications
- Valid Class C Texas Driver's License with a good driving record.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Ability to lift, carry, and push heavy objects weighing up to 50+ pounds repeatedly.
- Physical stamina to perform manual labor in various weather conditions (heat, rain, cold).
- Basic knowledge of hand and power tools or prior construction/maintenance experience.
- Excellent communication skills and a strong commitment to public service.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays if required.
