Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repair of city streets, sidewalks, and alleys, including pothole patching and crack sealing.
- Maintain and operate heavy municipal equipment such as dump trucks, asphalt rollers, and pavement breakers.
- Inspect drainage systems, catch basins, and ditches to ensure proper flow and prevent flooding.
- Respond to emergency maintenance requests and weather-related incidents promptly.
- Assist with traffic control and flagging operations during construction projects.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to all safety regulations and protocols.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.
- A valid Texas Class C Driver’s License is mandatory.
- Physical ability to perform strenuous labor, including lifting heavy objects and standing for extended periods.
- Previous experience in public works, construction, or landscaping is highly preferred.
- Basic knowledge of construction techniques and safety standards.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and work orders.
