Responsibilities
- Perform routine and emergency maintenance on streets, sidewalks, and public facilities.
- Operate and maintain heavy equipment, including dump trucks, graders, and street sweepers.
- Inspect municipal infrastructure to identify potential hazards or needed repairs.
- Respond to service requests from the public and other city departments efficiently.
- Ensure all work is performed in strict adherence to safety regulations and environmental guidelines.
- Assist in storm water management and flood control maintenance projects.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and equipment usage.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Valid Class B California Driverβs License with a clean driving record.
- Previous experience in public works, construction, or general maintenance is preferred.
- Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and work in various weather conditions.
- Basic knowledge of hydraulic systems and construction machinery is a plus.
- Must be willing to work flexible hours, including weekends and emergencies.
