Responsibilities
- Perform daily maintenance and repair of city streets, roads, and parking lots.
- Operate heavy municipal equipment, including dump trucks, graders, and loaders.
- Assist in snow and ice removal operations during inclement weather.
- Maintain and repair drainage systems, catch basins, and culverts to prevent flooding.
- Perform patching, sweeping, and cleaning duties on public thoroughfares.
- Respond to emergency repair requests from the public and city departments.
- Ensure strict adherence to all safety regulations and OSHA guidelines.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Clean driving record and valid New Mexico Class B CDL (Commercial Driver’s License) is strongly preferred.
- Ability to pass a post-offer physical examination and background check.
- Physical stamina to perform manual labor, including lifting up to 50 lbs, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Willingness to work in all weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold.
- Basic knowledge of construction and road maintenance equipment is a plus.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions accurately.
