Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repair of streets, sidewalks, alleys, and drainage systems.
- Operate heavy machinery and equipment, including backhoes, skid steers, and dump trucks.
- Assist with snow removal and ice control operations during winter weather events.
- Inspect public parks, facilities, and right-of-ways for safety hazards and maintenance needs.
- Maintain accurate logs and reports regarding work performed and materials used.
- Collaborate with other municipal departments to ensure efficient project completion.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Valid Kansas Driver's License with a clean driving record.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
- Physical stamina to perform heavy manual labor, including lifting up to 50 lbs and standing for extended periods.
- Basic knowledge of construction tools and safety procedures is preferred.
- Willingness to work in varying weather conditions.
