Responsibilities
- Manage $25M+ annual infrastructure budgets across roads, water systems, and public facilities
- Lead cross-departmental teams for stormwater management and sustainability initiatives
- Oversee FEMA compliance and disaster response operations
- Develop 5-year capital improvement plans with City Council alignment
- Supervise 45+ personnel including engineers and field technicians
- Implement smart city technologies for infrastructure monitoring
- Coordinate with federal/state agencies for grant funding opportunities
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Public Administration required
- 7+ years progressive public works leadership experience
- Kansas PE license or equivalent certification
- Proven experience with municipal budget cycles and procurement
- Strong knowledge of ADA compliance and federal infrastructure standards
- OSHA 30-hour construction safety certification
- Experience with GIS/CAD infrastructure mapping systems
- Valid Kansas driver's license
