Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain heavy machinery including dump trucks, graders, and street sweepers
- Perform daily inspections and preventive maintenance on municipal equipment
- Assist in construction and repair of city infrastructure (roads, drainage, sidewalks)
- Respond to emergency storm damage and disaster recovery operations
- Document work activities and maintain accurate maintenance logs
- Collaborate with engineering teams on infrastructure improvement projects
- Enforce safety protocols during all field operations
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Texas Class A or B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) mandatory
- Minimum 2 years heavy equipment operation experience
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification preferred
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in extreme weather conditions
- Basic mechanical troubleshooting skills
- Clean driving record and background check clearance
