Responsibilities
- Operate heavy refuse trucks and related equipment safely and efficiently to collect residential and commercial waste.
- Collect and empty refuse containers from designated routes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicle equipment and safety systems before and after each shift.
- Maintain accurate route logs and document any incidents or equipment malfunctions immediately.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and OSHA regulations to ensure a safe work environment for self and crew.
- Assist in snow and ice removal and emergency response duties during inclement weather events.
- Interact with the public professionally, answering questions and resolving service inquiries.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.
- Valid Class C Texas Driver's License with a clean driving record is mandatory.
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs repeatedly and perform physical labor for extended periods.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold.
- Strong commitment to public service and community integrity.
- Basic mechanical knowledge is a plus but not required; on-the-job training provided.
