Responsibilities
- Oversee daily maintenance of city infrastructure including roads, drainage systems, and public facilities
- Coordinate and inspect construction projects ensuring compliance with municipal codes and safety standards
- Operate heavy machinery and specialized equipment for maintenance activities
- Document project progress, maintain accurate records, and prepare technical reports
- Respond to emergency infrastructure repairs during off-hours as required
- Collaborate with engineering teams to implement infrastructure improvement plans
- Train junior staff on equipment operation and safety protocols
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent with 3+ years of public works or construction experience
- Valid California Class C Driver's License with clean driving record
- Certification in construction safety (OSHA 30-hour preferred)
- Proficiency with GIS mapping and construction software (e.g., AutoCAD)
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in outdoor conditions year-round
- Experience with stormwater management and erosion control practices
- Strong communication skills for public interaction and team coordination
