Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain heavy machinery (backhoes, dump trucks, graders)
- Inspect and repair municipal infrastructure (roads, drainage systems, traffic signals)
- Execute construction projects per city specifications and safety protocols
- Document work progress using digital reporting systems
- Coordinate with engineering teams for project planning
- Respond to emergency infrastructure repairs during extreme weather
- Train new technicians on equipment operation and safety standards
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Texas Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) mandatory
- 3+ years experience in public works or construction
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and work in extreme weather conditions
- Valid Texas Class B CDL with clean driving record
- Proficiency with GIS mapping software preferred
- Must pass pre-employment physical and background check
