Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain heavy equipment (excavators, graders, dump trucks) for infrastructure projects
- Perform routine inspections and repairs of roads, sidewalks, and public facilities
- Implement erosion control and stormwater management systems
- Coordinate with engineering teams on construction documentation and compliance
- Respond to emergency weather-related public works incidents
- Train junior staff on equipment safety protocols and best practices
- Manage inventory and maintenance records for municipal assets
Qualifications
- Valid Oregon Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- 3+ years experience in public works, construction, or civil maintenance
- OSHA 30-hour construction certification or ability to obtain within 90 days
- Proficiency with GIS mapping and asset management software
- Strong knowledge of OSHA safety standards and municipal regulations
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and work in varied weather conditions
- Associate's degree in Civil Engineering Technology or related field preferred
