Responsibilities
- Operate heavy machinery for road maintenance and drainage projects
- Inspect public facilities and report infrastructure issues
- Perform routine repairs on parks, sidewalks, and traffic signals
- Coordinate with engineering teams for construction oversight
- Maintain accurate records of work activities and inventory
- Respond to emergency weather-related public works requests
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and city safety protocols
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Texas Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Minimum 2 years of public works or construction experience
- Certification in heavy equipment operation preferred
- Ability to work outdoors in extreme weather conditions
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Valid Texas driver's license with clean record
- Pass background check and drug screening
