Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain municipal vehicles, heavy equipment, and tools for infrastructure projects
- Perform routine inspections and repairs of city roads, drainage systems, and public facilities
- Respond to emergency service calls during inclement weather or public safety incidents
- Collaborate with engineering teams to implement infrastructure improvement plans
- Ensure compliance with OSHA safety protocols and environmental regulations
- Document work activities and maintain accurate project records
- Assist in community outreach programs for public works awareness
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Texas Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with airbrake endorsement
- Minimum 2 years experience in municipal operations or construction trades
- Certification in confined space entry and trench safety preferred
- Strong mechanical aptitude and equipment troubleshooting skills
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in various weather conditions
- Excellent communication skills and teamwork orientation
- Valid Texas driver's license with clean driving record
