Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain heavy machinery for road construction and repairs
- Perform routine inspections of public facilities and infrastructure
- Respond to emergency service requests (floods, storm damage, etc.)
- Collaborate with engineering teams on municipal improvement projects
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and city safety regulations
- Document maintenance activities and prepare reports
- Support community events through setup and logistical coordination
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; technical certification preferred
- Valid Florida Commercial Driver's License (Class B)
- Minimum 2 years experience in public works or construction
- OSHA 10-hour certification or ability to obtain within 90 days
- Ability to operate heavy equipment (backhoes, graders, etc.)
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Ability to work in all weather conditions and physical environments
- Clean background check and pre-employment drug screen required
