Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on streets, sidewalks, and drainage systems
- Operate heavy machinery and specialized equipment safely and efficiently
- Inspect public infrastructure and document maintenance needs
- Collaborate with engineering teams on infrastructure improvement projects
- Respond to emergency situations (e.g., storm damage, utility failures)
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and environmental regulations
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Minimum 2 years of experience in public works or construction
- Valid California Class C driver's license (Class B preferred)
- Certification in equipment operation (e.g., backhoe, forklift) required
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Pass background check and drug screening
