Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections of city infrastructure including roads, drainage systems, and public facilities
- Operate specialized equipment such as dump trucks, street sweepers, and hand/power tools safely and efficiently
- Document work activities using digital reporting systems and maintain accurate field notes
- Respond to emergency service calls during inclement weather or public safety incidents
- Collaborate with engineering teams to support infrastructure improvement projects
- Ensure compliance with OSHA safety protocols and city environmental standards
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent; vocational/technical certification preferred
- Minimum 2 years of experience in construction, maintenance, or related field
- Valid Texas Class C Driver's License with clean driving record
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks in varying weather conditions
- Basic knowledge of civil engineering principles and municipal infrastructure systems
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently with minimal supervision
