Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain municipal vehicles and equipment including trucks, snowplows, and landscaping tools
- Perform routine inspections and repairs on public infrastructure (roads, sidewalks, drainage systems)
- Assist in emergency response during severe weather events and public safety incidents
- Document work activities using digital reporting systems and maintain accurate records
- Collaborate with cross-departmental teams to coordinate infrastructure projects
- Ensure compliance with OSHA safety regulations and municipal protocols
- Provide excellent customer service to residents during field inquiries
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with airbrake endorsement
- Minimum 2 years' experience in construction, maintenance, or related field
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification preferred
- Ability to operate heavy machinery and power tools safely
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work in all weather conditions and lift up to 50 pounds
- Pass background check and pre-employment physical
