Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain heavy equipment for road construction, drainage systems, and park facilities
- Perform preventive maintenance on municipal vehicles and machinery
- Document work activities using digital reporting systems and field inspection tools
- Collaborate with engineering teams on infrastructure improvement projects
- Enforce safety protocols during field operations and emergency response
- Respond to citizen inquiries regarding public works services
- Participate in cross-departmental initiatives for sustainable resource management
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent with 2+ years of equipment operation experience
- Valid Arizona Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Certification in heavy equipment operation or willingness to obtain within 6 months
- OSHA 10-hour construction safety certification
- Ability to work in extreme desert conditions and irregular hours
- Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Effective communication abilities for team coordination and public interaction
