Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain heavy machinery (street sweepers, dump trucks, snow plows)
- Perform road repairs, pothole patching, and sidewalk maintenance
- Conduct daily inspections of public facilities and equipment
- Manage waste collection and recycling operations across city zones
- Coordinate with emergency services during weather-related incidents
- Document work activities and maintain equipment logs
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class B with airbrakes endorsement
- Minimum 2 years experience in municipal/public works
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification preferred
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in extreme weather conditions
- Basic knowledge of DC traffic and infrastructure systems
- Pass background check and drug screening
