Responsibilities
- Perform daily maintenance and repairs of city infrastructure including roads, sidewalks, and public buildings
- Operate heavy machinery and specialized equipment safely and efficiently
- Conduct routine inspections of municipal facilities to identify maintenance needs
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on urban development projects
- Ensure compliance with OSHA safety standards and city protocols
- Document maintenance activities and submit detailed progress reports
- Respond to emergency infrastructure repairs during inclement weather
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification preferred
- 2+ years experience in public works, construction, or facility maintenance
- Valid Georgia driver's license with clean driving record
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification (or ability to obtain within 60 days)
- Proficiency in operating heavy equipment (excavators, loaders, etc.)
- Basic knowledge of municipal infrastructure systems
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in various weather conditions
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
