Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain municipal vehicles and specialized equipment (street sweepers, dump trucks, etc.)
- Perform preventive maintenance on public facilities including parks, buildings, and roadways
- Respond to emergency service requests during inclement weather or public safety events
- Document work activities using digital reporting systems and maintain accurate records
- Collaborate with engineering teams on infrastructure improvement projects
- Ensure compliance with OSHA safety regulations and municipal protocols
- Provide excellent customer service to residents and local businesses
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required; associate's degree in civil engineering or related field preferred
- Valid California Class C driver's license with clean driving record
- Minimum 2 years experience in public works, construction, or facility maintenance
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification or ability to obtain within 90 days
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and work in various weather conditions
- Proficiency with digital work order systems and mobile technology
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently or in teams
