In this pivotal role, you will work alongside experienced professionals to operate heavy machinery, perform paving and maintenance tasks, and ensure our municipal infrastructure meets the highest standards of quality and safety.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance, repair, and resurfacing of city streets, alleys, and sidewalks using asphalt and concrete.
- Operate heavy equipment such as pavers, rollers, and milling machines safely and efficiently.
- Inspect municipal infrastructure for wear and damage, documenting findings and recommending repairs.
- Respond to emergency and non-emergency work orders regarding street and sidewalk issues.
- Ensure all work is completed in compliance with city safety regulations and environmental guidelines.
- Maintain a clean and organized work site, including proper disposal of debris and materials.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
- Valid Class A or B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is strongly preferred.
- Previous experience in public works, paving, or road maintenance is highly desirable.
- Ability to lift heavy materials and work in various weather conditions.
- Basic knowledge of construction tools and safety protocols.
- Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening.
