Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on streets, sidewalks, and drainage systems
- Operate heavy machinery (excavators, graders, dump trucks) safely and efficiently
- Conduct infrastructure inspections and document findings using digital tools
- Collaborate with engineering teams on infrastructure improvement projects
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, Cal/OSHA, and municipal safety protocols
- Respond to emergency situations like storm damage or utility failures
- Maintain accurate work logs and equipment maintenance records
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification preferred
- Valid California Class C driver's license with clean record
- Minimum 2 years' experience in public works or construction maintenance
- OSHA 30-hour certification or willingness to obtain within 90 days
- Ability to operate heavy machinery and power tools proficiently
- Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work in variable weather conditions and lift 50+ lbs
- Basic knowledge of GIS mapping and digital reporting systems
