Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspection, maintenance, and repair of city streets, sidewalks, and drainage systems.
- Operate and maintain heavy machinery, including dump trucks, graders, and loaders.
- Clear debris and snow from roadways and public rights-of-way during inclement weather.
- Install, repair, and maintain traffic control devices and signs.
- Assist in the construction and resurfacing of municipal infrastructure projects.
- Respond to emergency maintenance calls and public service requests promptly.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Valid North Carolina Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class B or higher preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in public works, construction, or landscaping operations.
- Ability to operate standard power tools and light to heavy equipment.
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting, standing for extended periods, and working in various weather conditions.
- Must possess a valid NC Driver's License and a satisfactory driving record.
