Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain municipal equipment (snow plows, street sweepers, etc.)
- Perform routine inspections and repairs of public infrastructure
- Ensure compliance with OSHA safety protocols and city regulations
- Respond to emergency weather and service requests
- Coordinate with other city departments on infrastructure projects
- Complete detailed work documentation and reporting
- Support community beautification initiatives
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid Michigan Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Minimum 2 years equipment operation or maintenance experience
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification preferred
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and work in extreme weather conditions
- Basic mechanical troubleshooting skills
- Pass background check and drug screening
- Detroit residency required within 6 months of hire
