Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain heavy machinery (excavators, graders, dump trucks) for infrastructure projects
- Perform routine inspections and repairs of city roads, drainage systems, and public facilities
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and municipal safety protocols
- Document project progress using digital reporting systems and maintain accurate records
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on stormwater management initiatives
- Respond to emergency infrastructure repairs during severe weather events
- Maintain equipment cleanliness and preventive maintenance schedules
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; technical certification preferred
- Minimum 2 years experience in public works or heavy equipment operation
- Valid Texas Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with clean driving record
- OSHA 10-hour Construction Safety certification required
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in extreme weather conditions
- Proficiency with GIS mapping and digital maintenance software
- Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Pass pre-employment physical and background check
