Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance, installation, and repair of water and sewer infrastructure, including valves, hydrants, and mains.
- Operate and maintain heavy equipment, such as excavators, backhoes, and trenchers, ensuring safety protocols are followed.
- Inspect municipal facilities and public works projects to identify defects, damage, or necessary upgrades.
- Respond to emergency service calls and perform urgent repairs to minimize service interruptions.
- Utilize computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) to log work orders and track inventory.
- Collaborate with other municipal departments and contractors to coordinate large-scale projects.
- Adhere to all OSHA safety regulations and local building codes during all tasks.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required; Vocational or Technical training in a related field is a plus.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in general maintenance, construction, or utility work.
- Valid Colorado Class C Driver's License (CDL Class B preferred).
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and perform work in various weather conditions.
- Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical systems, or welding is highly desirable.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to follow technical instructions accurately.
- Must pass a post-offer physical examination and background check.
