Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization, cryptography, and machine learning applications
- Lead quantum hardware prototyping initiatives including qubit stabilization and error correction systems
- Develop hybrid quantum-classical computing frameworks for enterprise-scale problem solving
- Publish peer-reviewed research in top-tier journals and present at international conferences
- Mentor cross-functional teams of physicists, engineers, and computer scientists
- Secure external funding through NSF and DoE grant applications
- Contribute to quantum security protocols for next-gen communication networks
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field with 3+ years research experience
- Expertise in quantum programming languages (Q#, Qiskit, Cirq) and circuit optimization
- Published work in quantum error correction or fault-tolerant computing
- Proficiency in high-performance computing environments (HPC, GPU acceleration)
- Strong background in linear algebra, quantum mechanics, and statistical modeling
- Experience with quantum hardware integration (superconducting, trapped ion, or photonic systems)
- Demonstrated ability to secure federal research grants or industry partnerships
