Responsibilities
- Design and implement quantum algorithms for optimization, cryptography, and machine learning applications
- Collaborate with hardware teams to develop error-corrected qubit systems and cryogenic control systems
- Lead research initiatives in topological quantum computing and quantum supremacy validation
- Publish breakthrough findings in Nature/Science journals and present at IEEE Quantum Week
- Mentor PhD candidates and cross-functional teams in quantum theory and experimental physics
- Secure $5M+ in government grants (NSF, DOE) and corporate partnerships
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Computing, Theoretical Physics, or related field (postdoc preferred)
- 3+ years experience with quantum programming frameworks (Qiskit, Cirq, Q#)
- Published research in quantum error correction or fault-tolerant architectures
- Expertise in quantum machine learning and variational quantum algorithms
- Strong background in superconducting qubit systems or trapped ion technologies
- Proven ability to secure federal research grants and manage R&D budgets
- Deep knowledge of quantum information theory and quantum complexity classes
