Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization, cryptography, and machine learning applications
- Develop error mitigation strategies and quantum error correction codes for fault-tolerant systems
- Collaborate with hardware teams to optimize quantum software for specific processor architectures
- Lead experimental validation of quantum protocols using cloud-based quantum computing platforms
- Publish peer-reviewed research and present findings at top-tier conferences
- Mentor junior researchers and drive cross-functional innovation projects
- Secure external funding through NSF, DoE, and industry partnerships
Qualifications
- PhD in Physics, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering with quantum focus
- 3+ years of hands-on quantum programming (Qiskit, Q#, Cirq, or similar)
- Expertise in quantum algorithms, quantum information theory, or quantum hardware
- Strong background in linear algebra, probability, and computational complexity
- Proven track record of high-impact research publications
- Experience with quantum simulation frameworks (QASM, Quil, etc.)
- Ability to translate theoretical concepts into practical implementations
