Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor tasks including excavation, grading, and material handling for infrastructure projects
- Operate light machinery such as jackhammers, saws, and pneumatic tools under proper supervision
- Assist in road maintenance, sidewalk repairs, and park facility improvements
- Conduct routine inspections of public works sites and report maintenance needs
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to coordinate project timelines and resource allocation
- Adhere to OSHA safety protocols and maintain organized work sites
- Participate in emergency response efforts during severe weather events
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent with 1+ years of construction or maintenance experience
- Valid Ohio driver's license with clean driving record
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks in various weather conditions
- Basic knowledge of construction tools, materials, and safety procedures
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- OSHA 10-hour certification preferred (training provided if not certified)
