Responsibilities
- Collect residential and commercial waste, trash, and recycling materials according to established routes and schedules.
- Operate heavy-duty refuse trucks, side-loaders, and compactors safely and efficiently.
- Perform routine inspections of sanitation equipment to ensure proper maintenance and functionality.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and OSHA regulations to prevent workplace accidents.
- Assist with emergency municipal services, including snow removal, flood control, and debris cleanup during storms.
- Interact respectfully and professionally with the public, residents, and fellow employees.
- Report any damage to collection vehicles or infrastructure immediately to supervisors.
Qualifications
- Valid Maryland Class C Driver’s License required.
- Ability to lift heavy loads (up to 50 lbs) repeatedly and perform physical labor in various weather conditions.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
- Willingness to undergo a criminal background check and drug screen.
- Strong mechanical aptitude is a plus but not mandatory.
- Must be punctual and demonstrate a strong work ethic.
