Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough screening of passengers, carry-on luggage, and cargo using X-ray systems and walk-through metal detectors.
- Identify and mitigate potential threats, including weapons, explosives, and other prohibited items.
- Interpret X-ray images and determine the safety and legality of items based on strict federal regulations.
- Communicate effectively with passengers to explain screening procedures and ensure compliance while maintaining a professional demeanor.
- Maintain situational awareness and physical readiness to respond quickly to security incidents.
- Document screening results and report any anomalies or suspicious activities immediately.
- Adhere to all TSA directives regarding privacy, security, and passenger dignity.
Qualifications
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident (Green Card holder).
- Must be willing to undergo a comprehensive background investigation, including a criminal history check, and obtain a TSA security clearance.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment medical examination, including drug screening.
- Strong observation skills with the ability to detect subtle details and potential security risks.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to de-escalate tense situations with courtesy and respect.
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs occasionally.
- Valid driver's license is preferred.
