The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Senior Administrative Specialist to support our executive leadership team in Washington, DC. Responsibilities
- Manage complex calendars, coordinate travel arrangements, and schedule high-stakes meetings for senior executives.
- Prepare, review, and edit a wide variety of correspondence, briefing materials, and reports with a high degree of accuracy.
- Liaise with federal agencies, congressional offices, and external partners to facilitate communication and resolve administrative issues.
- Supervise and mentor junior administrative staff, ensuring adherence to federal regulations and agency policies.
- Oversee the management of office supplies, equipment, and space to ensure an efficient working environment.
- Conduct research and compile data for special projects and legislative updates.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution is required; an Associate's degree with significant experience may be considered.
- At least 3-5 years of progressive experience in federal or executive administrative support.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and federal case management systems.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to draft formal correspondence.
- Knowledge of federal procurement, travel regulations, and compliance standards is highly preferred.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and exercise sound judgment in sensitive situations.
