Responsibilities
- Maintain official municipal records, ordinances, and meeting minutes with precision
- Manage public records requests and ensure compliance with Indiana's Access to Public Records Act
- Oversee city elections administration including ballot preparation and voter education
- Coordinate with City Council on agenda preparation, legislative tracking, and document processing
- Lead digital transformation of records management systems for enhanced accessibility
- Serve as primary liaison between citizens and municipal governance processes
- Train staff on records management protocols and legislative procedures
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Political Science, or related field
- 5+ years of municipal government or public sector experience
- Expert knowledge of Indiana public records laws and election procedures
- Advanced proficiency in document management systems (e.g., Laserfiche, OnBase)
- Certified Municipal Clerk (CMC) designation preferred
- Exceptional written/verbal communication skills with diverse stakeholders
- Proven project management experience implementing administrative systems
- Valid Indiana driver's license
