Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain official city records, minutes, and documents with precision
- Coordinate public meetings, agendas, and record-keeping for city council proceedings
- Oversee public records requests and ensure compliance with open records laws
- Lead digitization initiatives for archival records and document management systems
- Train and mentor junior clerks on municipal procedures and compliance protocols
- Collaborate with legal and finance departments to ensure regulatory adherence
- Develop and implement efficiency improvements for clerical workflows
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business, or related field
- 5+ years of municipal government or public sector experience
- Advanced proficiency in document management systems (e.g., Laserfiche, SharePoint)
- Expert knowledge of North Carolina public records laws and municipal regulations
- Proven ability to manage sensitive information with confidentiality
