Responsibilities
- Manage and preserve all official city records, ordinances, and meeting minutes in compliance with DC regulations
- Coordinate public records requests and ensure timely responses per FOIA guidelines
- Oversee city elections processes including voter registration and ballot management
- Administer oaths of office and notary public services for municipal officials
- Support the Council of the District of Columbia with legislative documentation and procedural compliance
- Develop and implement records management systems for digital and physical archives
- Act as primary liaison between public bodies and citizens for official documentation needs
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Political Science, or related field
- Minimum 5 years experience in municipal government or records management
- Expert knowledge of DC municipal codes and open records laws
- Advanced proficiency in document management systems (e.g., Laserfiche, SharePoint)
- Certified Municipal Clerk (CMC) designation preferred
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
