Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain official municipal records, meeting minutes, and legislative documents
- Oversee public records requests and ensure compliance with open meeting laws
- Administer oaths, take depositions, and issue municipal licenses/permits
- Coordinate with city council and mayoral offices on legislative procedures
- Supervise records management system upgrades and digital archiving initiatives
- Lead voter registration efforts and election coordination
- Develop public outreach programs for civic education
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Political Science, or related field
- 5+ years of municipal government experience with records management
- Expert knowledge of Massachusetts public records law (MGL c. 66)
- Advanced proficiency in document management systems (e.g., Laserfiche)
- Strong project management and cross-departmental coordination skills
- Experience supervising staff and managing budgets
- Valid Massachusetts Notary Public commission
