Responsibilities
- Serve as custodian of official municipal records, ordinances, and meeting minutes
- Administer oaths, commissions, and public notarizations per Indiana statutes
- Oversee election logistics including ballot preparation and polling site coordination
- Manage public information requests and ensure compliance with open records laws
- Facilitate City-County Council meetings, including agenda preparation and minute-taking
- Lead records digitization initiatives to enhance accessibility and efficiency
- Develop and implement records retention policies aligned with state regulations
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business, or related field
- Minimum 5 years of municipal government or records management experience
- Indiana Certified Municipal Clerk (ICMC) designation preferred
- Proficiency with records management software (e.g., Laserfiche, DocuWare)
- Deep understanding of Indiana Election Law and Open Records Act
- Exceptional written communication and public speaking skills
- Ability to manage sensitive information with discretion and integrity
