Responsibilities
- Oversee maintenance of municipal records, ordinances, and official documents with absolute precision
- Prepare and distribute City Council meeting agendas, minutes, and supporting materials
- Administer public records requests ensuring timely and compliant responses
- Manage voter registration, election coordination, and municipal licensing processes
- Suppose municipal clerk staff and implement records management best practices
- Advise city officials on statutory compliance and regulatory requirements
- Develop public outreach programs enhancing civic engagement
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration or related field required
- Minimum 5 years municipal government or records management experience
- Certified Municipal Clerk (CMC) designation preferred
- Expert knowledge of Kansas open records laws and municipal statutes
- Advanced proficiency in document management systems (e.g., Laserfiche)
- Exceptional written/verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Proven ability to manage complex projects with competing priorities
- Valid Kansas driver's license required
