Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Senior City Clerk to join the City of Dallas. Responsibilities
- Oversee the management and preservation of all official city records, including minutes, ordinances, resolutions, and contracts.
- Prepare and distribute agendas, reports, and meeting materials for the City Council and various boards.
- Facilitate the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) and Public Information Act requests in strict accordance with legal timelines.
- Coordinate the logistics of city council meetings, including scheduling, room setup, and live streaming support.
- Maintain the City's compliance calendar, ensuring all statutory deadlines are met.
- Manage the budget for the Clerk’s Office and oversee procurement of supplies and services.
- Act as the primary point of contact for public inquiries and correspondence.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Political Science, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a municipal government setting or a similar administrative role.
- Deep understanding of Texas open records laws and municipal protocol.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and government-specific software (e.g., ERP systems).
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with a professional demeanor.
